Whiskey is a prime example of what we call a "foster failure". I began fostering Whiskey in early May and right away knew that Whiskey had chosen me to be his forever person. I tried to show him off at foster events and social gatherings with the intent of finding him a forever home. Whiskey showed no interest in meeting new people. He loyally sat by my side and snubbed everyone that wanted to pet him.
Whiskey's mind was made up. He had already chose his forever home. Since adopting Whiskey last month, he has settled in even more. We went on a 1200 mile road trip. He happily rode shotgun (his choice) most of the way. He was the perfect travel companion.
Whiskey's injuries that he sustained before coming to Animal House are starting to heal and his excited wiggle has turned into best dance moves in Northern Colorado. Whiskey has proven himself to be the most loyal dog I've ever known. He sticks by my side wherever I go, except for the basement (it's scary down there). However, he does wait patiently for me at the top of the stairs.
I couldn't imagine my world without him. I feel incredibly blessed to be his chosen one. –Jourdan Jiruska
