In the summer of 2012, we adopted Duchess (now Lucy, or just "Goose"). She was a gentle girl with some signs that her previous home wasn't the best place and she hadn't had an opportunity to blossom.
Right from the get-go, we saw what a darling girl she was: well-mannered, gentle, obedient and smart. Although a little shy at first, she's never shown us anything but what a heart of gold she's got in her! She never ceases to amaze me with her gentle nature and how well she understands what we ask of her.
True to her Labrador roots, this girl thrives the most when we take her outdoors or to lakes and will spend hours running, sniffing, swimming and playing fetch. She can't get enough of it! She gets along with everyone in the house, and even when she get's a little "spooked" (she's wary of people in large dark jackets and really, really tall people), she still wags her tail like crazy, even if she won't come say hello. It's a true testament to how completely loving and wonderful she is.
Here are some pictures of her with us – both outdoors and loving nature and companionship as we do, and snuggling with her favorite little kid.
We are so happy to have brought our "Goose" home from The Animal House. Thank you for all the wonderful work you do to help these dogs find the people that will love them and give them the family and life they deserve!
Many, MANY thanks,
The Thomas family.
