Our New Home

After ten years of renting our facility on Vine Drive, and welcoming thousands of dogs through our doors, our facility was outdated and declining. That, combined with space constraints and limited options for improvement, has made daily operations both challenging and inefficient. In late September 2017, we relocated to our new home at 2200 North Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins.

The Impact of a New Facility
At our new facility, we expect to see a 20-percent increase in adoptions within the first full two years of occupancy. With more space in our facility, we’ll improve operational efficiency and serve more animals by providing:

  • Increased adoption space (12 adoption runs)
  • Indoor adoption counseling room
  • Outdoor play yards for canine enrichment activities
  • Veterinary service building with dedicated quarantine and isolation housing
  • Larger grooming salon (more support for second chances)

Imagine how many more second chances we can provide with more space!

Phase 1 projected completion winter 2018. Phase 2 projected completion is pending, but we are striving for 2022. Phase 2 is the third building which will house an even larger grooming salon, foster nursery and office, cat adoption room, retail space, conference room and administrative offices. Building renderings subject to change. Total property size is 5 acres. The square footage of the shelter on Vine Drive was 2,382.
