Education:  Child Safety “Dog Bite Prevention” Program  
Working with over 16 schools, churches and organizations, our shelter believes that  education is the key to prevention.  Statistics show that 60% of dog bite victims are children and are the second most common cause of child emergency room visits.  We want to help change that within our community.

Helping Animals: Youth Volunteering

We want kids to get involved and to know that they can make a difference! We encourage children from 8 years old and up to help the animals with us. Here are just a few ways that they can help!

WISH LIST DRIVE
Have fun collecting our everyday needs from the community. Our wish list is posted and can be printed from our website (click here)

DOG WALKING
Exercise dogs and teach them leash manners by walking them at park next door.
An orientation with a parent/guardian is required. No group orientations please. One parent/guardian must volunteer with up to 2 children. To schedule an orientation, please contact us through our website or call (970) 224-DOGS.

K-9 KIDS PLEDGE DRIVE
To help us in caring for over 50 animals each month, we want our kids to get involved!  For every $10 a month pledge raised, you will get cool prizes like hats, stickers, plaques and more at each level they reach.  Can be done individually or as a group! When you ask others to help animals for only $10 a month, you are giving these homeless animals a future. Relying on monthly support is every shelter’s need and you can make that happen! RESTAURANT NITE –OUT FOR THE ANIMALS
Team up with a local restaurant and do a fundraiser night for our animals! Make posters and flyers and pass them out to get people to come. Many restaurants like to work with non-profits and will donate a percentage of their evening sales! Contact Sandra@animalhousehelp.org if needing ideas and to let us know that you want to do this for Animal House!

OUR GROOMING SERVICES SAVES LIVES!
Did you know that we have a professional, full service grooming salon that supports our shelter animals? By grooming with us, you save lives! We would LOVE to have our coupons and $5 nail trim coupons handed out to let people know how they can help Animal House simply by having their pet groomed with us. If you would like to go door to door in your neighborhood,work with a church or have a table at a King Soopers store front, you would be making a big difference in helping the homeless dogs at Animal House.
