Jake's Fund

jake Jake
Established in honor of Jake, the first dog we lost, and those who follow.
Because of Jake, his wonderful adopters started an emergency medical fund in his memory, "Jake's Fund".

This fund allows us to help animals like Jake and others like our heartworm positive dogs, Angel and Buddy.

This financial support allows Animal House the chance to restore the health of dogs whose medical care has been neglected. We share with you our losses and request your support in helping assure that we may provide treatment for the next dog who arrives in need.

tank Tank
Tank was a dog in a cat's body. He was a homeless FELV positive tomcat rescued by Fort Collins Cat Rescue and lived at Animal House Rescue & Grooming. There he was loved and loved on by the staff, volunteers, and most of the dogs. He was the official cat-tester who helped dogs find their forever homes with feline siblings. After a year of helping dogs find their forever homes, Tank finally found the one he so deserved. He was loved intensely by his new family, but in a cruel twist of fate, the disease overtook his body only two weeks later. Tank will always be remembered for his laid back but vibrant personality. On behalf of all those who loved Tank, please vaccinate your pets!

Icarus (Icky)
1999 - 2008
Icky.JPGHe was an old, sweet miniature pinscher with only two teeth left. Though grumpy at times, he was a nice little guy who was just confused as to why, after all these years, he was in a shelter.

Unfortunately, Icarus was in poor health when he came to us. We tried everything we could for him, but the stress of being given up at his age and health was too much for him. On October 25th, 2008, we said goodbye to Icarus as he passed away due to kidney failure. He will forever be remembered as the goofy little guy with his tongue hanging out.

RIP, little Icky.

bubba Bubba
July 2000 - February 2008
We said goodbye to one of our angels on Friday, February 22. When Bubba first came to AH, we had to remove a painful rectal tumor and started treating him for his previously undiagnosed diabetes and hypothyroidism.

Unfortunately, being a sick senior in a shelter environment was not where Bubba should have been. Sandra took him home at nights and gave him the extra care and love he deserved but his disease took its toll. After several days in the hospital, we finally had to let him go. Bubba is not the first loss Animal House has experienced and certainly will not be the last. We do what we can with the limited monies that we have and let them know that they were loved. However, his vet bill wiped out our Jake’s Fund account.

If you would like to help restore this fund so we can help the next special-needs dog, please click the link below. These donations will go to Jake's Fund in memory of those we have loved and lost.

Chuck
July 2007 - January 2008
Our beloved Chuck was given back to Heaven on January 25th. He required throat surgery which would hopefully allow him to eat and drink without a stomach tube. Unfortunately, it was not successful and we had to let him go.

On behalf of Chuck, we would like to thank all of you who loved and supported him, especially the caring staff at Flatiron Veterinary Specialists for their effort toward improving his qualify of life. Thank you Dr. Ellen Miller and Dr. Jennifer Fick for everything you did for our little guy. He was deeply loved by everyone who met him and will continue to impact the lives of the staff and friends of Animal House.
