Emcee Cary Klataske from Comedy Brewers. An educator, artist, and activist, Cary Klataske is a proud member of the Northern Colorado community. His adventure began as he snagged a Theatre degree at Kansas State University. Quickly after, a few years in San Francisco gave Cary some experience in the field of Drama Therapy, using art as healing. Six years ago, the call of Colorado became too strong, and he ventured out to this area to receive his Masters in Special Education from UNCO. He is a founder of the Comedy Brewers improvisation troupe, and takes great pride in his work to bring art and enjoyment into education and personal growth. He thanks you for allowing him to share this evening with him, for the good of our shared community.
Opener Nancy Norton has been featured on A&E’s An Evening at the Improv and starred in her own one-woman show on PBS, The Yellowish-Green Girl. Her background includes extensive improvisational theater work, which helps her to deliver stand-up performances that are both spontaneous and fresh. Also a practicing R.N., this versatile comedienne combines hilarious on the job story-telling with a fast-paced improvisational style that leaves audiences with little time to catch their breath. Her clean and engaging style of comedy has made her a huge hit at corporate events across the country, as well as internationally while entertaining the troops on two USO Comedy Tours.
Headliner Kevin Fitzgerald has a varied background that includes tours as a bouncer with The Rolling Stones, The Who, and The Police, a 25-year career in veterinary medicine that saw him named Specialist of the Year in Private Practice in 2006, and over 20-years of performing as a professional stand-up comedian; Kevin Fitzgerald is a true renaissance man. Perhaps best known for his 10 seasons on the popular Animal Planet TV show Emergency Vets, Kevins passion for making people laugh is surpassed only by his unwavering dedication to all creatures great and small. He believes it is a great privilege to be in a position where he is able to pursue a dual career doing work that he truly enjoys. In addition to his numerous appearances on Animal Planet, Kevin has appeared on The NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The Today Show with Matt Lauer, Fox News Channels Geraldo-At-Large with Geraldo Rivera, The Maury Povich Show, TNNs Crooke and Chase, Discovery Channels Home Matters, and most recently CBSs The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also hosts a weekly segment on CW2s morning news show called Animal House, in which he keeps the public informed about pet and animal-related issues. As a comedian, Kevin has opened for such diverse and legendary performers as Bob Hope, Diana Ross, The Temptations, and The Neville Brothers. Despite maintaining a busy practice at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, Kevin performs to rave reviews at nearly one hundred corporate and fundraising events annually. He believes that laughter is an incredibly important part of everyday life, and that nobody could ever laugh too much. Follow him on Facebook!
